I bought WiseFixer and can’t find my activation code. What should I do?

Go to http://www.wisefixer.net/resend_license.php

You can use this webpage to have the code re-sent to you.

All you need to provide is the email address you’ve used when registering.

Can I run an online scan?

The official website has confusing wording. You do have to download and install first. You can scan after you’ve downloaded and installed WiseFixer.

What Windows versions are supported?

Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7

Does WiseFixer run on my Mac?

Mac OS X does not have a registry, therefore it does not require a registry cleaner. You can, however, make use of WiseFixer if you have Windows. Bootcamp and Parallels are both supported.

I have an old Windows 9x, Windows ME or Windows 2000 PC. Is WiseFixer going to work?

As above, WiseFixer supports Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 only.

Is WiseFixer an anti-virus?

WiseFixer has some functions that are traditionally anti-virus territory. Specifically it can remove a lot of malicious software. Those that steal your data, or force you to watch unsolicited ads. It also has some security functions. For an all-around solution, however, I do recommend installing an additional anti-virus package.

My PC is so slow that I can’t go on the Internet. I can’t even run WiseFixer. What should I do?

Press F8 when starting the PC. Select “Safe mode with Networking” from the Windows start-up menu. A limited, ugly version of Windows will load, slowly. Start a browser when it’s up, download and install run WiseFixer. This simple approach may not work depending on what’s ailing your PC, but it’s definitely worth a try.

I need help in getting rid of Vista!

Your local PC shop can help. Try to find a place where they specialize in repairs, otherwise they may just talk you into buying a new one. If you’re local to me in Japan and/or willing to send me your PC, drop me a mail and I’ll give you a reasonable quote. Use the “Contact Me” tab.

Can I fix my PC with the free download?

You can only scan. Then you can make a decision to purchase or not based on results.

Is there a recurring cost to WiseFixer?

No. It’s a one time purchase.

Can I get my money back if it doesn’t fix my PC?

Absolutely. There’s a 2 month 100% money-back guarantee. After 60 days all sales are final, so be sure to request a refund immediately if you’re not happy. That being said, I’ve had 0 requests so far (2011 Aug).

Do I need an Internet connection to run WiseFixer?

You do need Internet connection to download, and to activate your license to take advantage of the 50% online discount. You won’t need an Internet connection afterwards.

Is WiseFixer spyware or is it safe to use?

I was monitoring network traffic during the tests, just as a precaution. I haven’t found any signs of WiseFixer sending data from the PC (other than during activation, which is normal). As far as I can see it’s safe to use.

What is the current version of WiseFixer?

3.2.1, as of August 2011.

What browsers are supported by WiseFixer?

You can download WiseFixer with any internet browser, including but not limited to Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera, etc. Additionally, it has some Internet Explorer specific tools, such as clearing browser cache and cookies. Important to know that it won’t do anything to other browsers, you’ll want to do maintenance on those manually when needed.
